The event honored all six recipients of the magazines fifth-annual Classic Woman Awards, a signature program that celebrates the spirit of volunteerism by recognizing standout charitable women from across the country.

In previous issues and on its Web site, Traditional Home invited its 4.7 million readers to nominate a woman who is making a positive difference in her community. The magazines editorial staff and the judges pored over the nominations to choose six women who truly are changing the world one day, one person at a time.

In addition, each honorees chosen cause received a contribution from Traditional Home. The women and their causes are also featured in the magazines upcoming November 2009 issue, which will hit newsstands October 20.

Chris West, a regular contributor to Lusso Magazine heads to an undisclosed location in the middle of the country to meet up with ex-special forces officer Dave Thomas for lessons in evasive driving. Dave, MD of Spy Games and a private security company talks us through the manoeuvres, his opinion on the new Cadillac SRX4 and the Hummer H3. Fred Smith, an evasive driving expert runs us through the technique for the perfect J-Turn, a move that allows the car to move from a fast reverse to normal, forward motion in one continuous swing.
