Does anyone have a good idea on what to do with cooking magazines?

I have 8+ years of Taste of Home, Country Woman and other magazines that all have recipes. I love cooking magazines, but I don’t know what to do with them. I can’t seem to bear throwing them out even tho I know the chances of me looking at them again are basically nill. Each magazine has too many recipes to cut them out and then it would just be a pile of recipes. What have others done with their old magazines?

Get rid of them … they are only cluttering your home. You can find great recipes on line from so many sites. Perhaps look into the magazine and see if they have a website and you can find all their recipes on line. Donate the magazines to your local library, high school or community centre.

Go thru all the magazines and cut out all the recipes you like or would use. Either paste them in a notebook making your own littke cook book or put them in plastic covers in a 3-ring binder. Then throw the magazines away.

You could make a fine collage for your kitchen area….make a cookbook for yourself…give some to the rest homes in your area…send to Iraq for the soldiers…

I have a pretty 3 ring binder and a 3 hole punch. Just rip out the whole page, punch it, and put it in the binder. No pasting or protective sheets. Although you might want those tiny gluey circles to protect the holes.

I’ve also used the prettier covers and ads as wrapping paper for small gifts. And when that’s done, put them on freecycle. I’ve had people pick up my old cooking mags for schools and centers for developmentally disabled adults for craft projects.

Well here’s what I do when I get a collection of mags,
I take one or two with me when i go to a dr appt, or others places i may have to wait, then conveniently leave it behind.

You might call a home -ec teacher and see if she would have a need for them.

Call the newspaper and see if they recycle mags.

This sight will tell you if your local community has a magazine recycle place.
Libraries will take issues that are one year current.
