Making your own printed circuit board can be a truly satisfying process, tying together electronics and the handmade craft of etching. It’s the most accurate way to build a circuit short of sending away to a PCB manufacturer and it’s a lot more fun (+ cheaper too!).

If I didn’t know better, I’d swear you were in my lab using my tools. Everything from the mini drill press I used for years (before I upgraded) to the 100% acetone (aka nail polish remover) is exactly how I build my own boards. Good idea with the photo frame though, I’ve been using a sheet of cast acrylic with a wood backer board. Also, it helps a LOT to warm your chemicals, the developer needs to be warm, the FeCl3 needs to be warmer. Those Pyrex dishes fit nicely on a hot plate.
