    “…one step ahead …
“…one step ahead of relief..” I love that line. It really hit the mark for me in 78/79 when I used to listen to this track….also…”now that I’m out of touch with anger…” I used to wonder what it meant.

Great song – heard this for the first time this afternoon and I must have listened to it ten times through the day.

The only other thing I’ve heard like this is Cockney Rebel, but this has a harder edge. Got to get the album…

    Perhaps bemusement. …
Perhaps bemusement. I came away from one of his first gigs wondering why no rendition of Buzzcocks. Like a fine wine Magazine grows on you. Unlike a fine wine it took weeks rather than years. There’s been better bands – Uriah Heep, Glen Miller, The Osmonds.
Ask me one band that defines my life, I may say Girls Aloud but I’d really mean Magazine.

    Going by how good …
Going by how good this is, the applause should have been a LOT louder I think. I think it was subdued because the song was a bit too on the urbane side for a punky audience. Could be wrong of course, I’m not much of an applauder anyway. More of a waffler as you can tell.

  25. stamatis53 says:

    This band was so …
This band was so under valued!
