I’ve noticed that some handguns will drop their slide automatically if your push the magazine into them hard enough. A freind of mine told me this was bad, while other things I’ve heard is that it is fine and they were designed for this. So is it good or bad?
If slamming a magazine in damages your weapon, get a new weapon. All the ‘slam’ does is bump the release through it’s natural range of motion and release the slide faster than you can by hand.
I’ve seen a ton of FTF’s because people didn’t seat the magazine well, and fired thousands of rounds seating it hard enough to work the action.
Seating a mag and running the action, 2 things in firearms you do like you mean it.

I haven’t heard of a gun where this is the way it’s *supposed* to work. I imagine that slamming a magazine into the well hard enough would cause the slide stop to disengage and allow the slide to rack forward, but this is definitely not the proper way to operate a pistol.

It’s a bit rough but if your gun can’t handle that then you should think about why you are slamming the mags in with that gun. I think it’s a acceptable combat TTP
