Where can I find magazine subscriptions?

March 8, 2010 - 4:27 am 2 Comments

for a reduced rate? I love reading magazines but they are so damn expensive and completely useless after youve read them.

Go to your local library and check out an abundance of magazines for FREE! Check em’ out read em and return them…. If that doesn’t appeal to you see what mags your friends get and get something different- then share the subscription with them… It will be like a magazine club with your friends…

Go to FREECYCLE.ORG and look in your community for others that share your love of magazines and pick-up their already read subscriptions.. I give away most of my magazines when I’m done with them…. I get ELLE, VOGUE, GLAMOUR, COSMO, I get them for FREE.. I’ll have to let you know what site I get them from… You can also get the "blow cards" from the mags at the library there they have reduced rates about 50% UNDER newstand!

Good luck

Can I go to jail for signing up someone else for magazine subscriptions?

March 2, 2010 - 4:15 am 4 Comments

I had a falling out with someone, and two days later with little sleep and some help from alcohol decided to sign up that person to countless magazines online with the "bill me later" box checked. Thinking about it now, the next (sober) day, it was SO STUPID. And now I’m worried that they will find out it was me and I’ll go to jail. What can happen in this situation? Can I go to jail for this?

No they aren’t going to track you down. Most likely your friend will recieve them and not pay and eventually they will forget about it. It might be a misdemeanor meaning you won’t go to jail.

Is it possible to get refunds from magazine subscriptions you already paid?

February 28, 2010 - 2:15 am 1 Comment

Soooo yaa I just paid for "Seventeen" magazine subscriptions online with my credit card. But then I found a better deal with another magazine…. so I wanna get a refund from Seventeen. Do you guys know if they even do that?? It says in the confirmation email to wait a week for the order to process and come up in their system.

pleaseeeee give me your knowledge
peace and lovee

I’m pretty sure you can’t… once they’ve got the payment they don’t give it back :(

If you keep trying asap, they might do it before the first magazine, they could void it.

How do you send in magazine subscriptions?

February 26, 2010 - 3:07 am 1 Comment

You know those little cards that come in magazins that let you subscribe to them? I’m going to subscribe… but I’m not really sure how. Do you just fill out the card and send it in the mail? But what if your payment is included, do you put it in an envelope and then send that? Need help, thanks!

How can I improve my credit that I messed up with unpaid magazine subscriptions?

February 24, 2010 - 3:28 am 5 Comments

The problem with simply paying off the debt does not remove the negative report from your credit history. They may show the debt paid, but it will still reflect late payments, or that it went to collections.

If you choose to go this route, be sure to get IN WRITING a letter stating that they will remove this debt from your history BEFORE you pay a dime to them!

Here is a better suggestion.

Send the creditor a demand to VALIDATE your debt. That means they must send you copies of you contract, bills, receipts, and anything that can prove you have a legal obligation to pay this debt.

If they do not respond back in 30 days, send a copy of this letter to the credit reporting agency, along with a demand to remove the entry due to lack of validation. They must remove the entry or risk a lawsuit for violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Be sure to send all letters by certified mail, so you have proof they were sent and received. Otherwise you have no proof to show the judge if you go to court.

Many of these magazine companies don’t even keep your contracts on file, and it will be impossible for them to prove your debt. Rather then spend a lot of manpower searching for these records, they will simply opt to remove the listing.
