it was either December of 09 or January of this year

it was the january 2010 issue, but most magazines are published the previous month so it was probably available to buy in december 2009

    January 2010. Already off newsstands. You can probably find it at eBay. There were two covers. Most of the country got only the cover w/Britney Spears. Some areas got both the Britney Spears cover and the Lady Gaga cover.
